Macanudo was originally produced in Jamaica by the makers of the Cuban brand, Punch. In 1971, General Cigar Company introduced a new cigar named Macanudo as a brand unto itself.

Developed in Jamaica under the creative leadership of Ramon Cifuentes the legendary Cuban cigar master of Partagas, Macanudo soon became the leading premium cigar and remains so today.

Now crafted in the Dominican Republic, every Macanudo Cafe cigar is made with the finest Connecticut Shade wrapper, a flavorful blend of Dominican tobaccos and a select binder grown in the rich San Andres Tuxtla Valley of Mexico.

While mild in strength this cigar always delivers the same distinctively Macanudo-smooth taste.

Wrapper: Connecticut Shade
Filler: Dominican Piloto Cubano and Mexican
Binder: Mexican San Andres

Dinner at Pico De Gallo

My Wife and I decided that we needed to try some new places to eat so we decided we would try Pico De Gallo, I was a little anxious when we walked in and only one other party was inside on a Friday night, but my fears were put to rest when several other parties walked in after we did.  With what seems like a million Mexican restaurants in the area it is hard to stand out from the crowd and Pico De Gallo did just that.  The restaurant was very clean and the staff helped us with find the right things to eat.  We ended up ordering a couple of chicken tacos, some taquitos with guacamole, and a carne asada burrito.  The food was freshly prepared and outstanding.  We have now added Pico De Gallo to our list of regular restaurants.

Marty’s Cigar of the Week – Ashton Cabinet

The Ashton Cabinet is the “white burgundy” of cigars. “White burgundy” gets its rich complex taste from the soil and aging in French oak barrels. The Cabinet’s 4 to 5 year old Dominican filler blend has a rich, complex and well-rounded taste. The extraordinary Connecticut shade wrapper is aged for and extra year and has an elegant Palomino color resulting in a smooth and creamy flavor. Ashton Cabinet includes no less than six different tobaccos and ends with a big finish. Seven years pass from seedling to finished cigar.
